Quick Update

With the first Hired by Aliens book out in the world, I ended up taking an unintentional, but much needed break this winter. That’s not to say I got nothing done! I started drafting the second book in the vampire Why Choose trilogy, and just recently, I started fleshing out the outline for the next book in the Hired by Aliens series.
So why the break? Well, uh, because burnout, I guess?
Look, I published six books in the span of a year. That’s…a lot of books. It was a lot of writing, a metric fuckton of rewrites, revisions, and edits. It was a lot of pushing myself to improve my art and create the best cover illustrations I could. It was learning how to set up things like Facebook ads and putting myself out there, which I’m extremely uncomfortable with. It was just a lot.
Then there were some health issues that cropped up that left me feeling generally blah and even more listless/apathetic than I usually do. So, that’s been fun to figure out. 😅
All in all, a break was much needed. I spent most of the last couple months reading romantasy manhwas (korean comics a la Webtoons, Tapas, and other similar sites) and I’m beginning to feel ready to tackle this year’s publishing schedule.
I’m still planning to put out the entire vampire trilogy this summer(ish), and I hope (cross your fingers 🤞) to get out the second HBA book before 2027. Progress might be a little slower than it was last year, but it is still happening. So keep your eye on my for updates and art sneak peaks.
