When’s your next book coming out?
Dreams in Blood, the first book in a new vampire romance series, is set for release August 21, 2026.
I hear the Hired by Aliens series will feature a different couple in each book. Can they be read in any order?
Yep! Kinda. For the most part. More or less.
To be clear as mud. 😅
While each book does feature a different couple (or throuple, or more, depending) and there isn’t exactly an overarching plot line for the series as a whole, the books are linked together. My goal is to make it so you can pick up the book that catches your fancy and go from there, but I will always recommend they be read in order for the best reading experience.
So what’s coming after aliens?

I’ll be releasing a whole Why Choose trilogy in 2026. I’m so in love with the world I might just have to do a second trilogy featuring a different cast of characters. I already have some ideas for that, so we’ll see. ;)
Are your books available in hard copy?
At this moment in time (July 2026) I’m afraid the answer is ‘no.’ One day, I would love to be able to provide print copies of all my books, but right now, that’s just not financially feasible for me.
“But aren’t there free options available?” I hear you ask.
Yes, yes there are, but I won’t use them.
For the TL;DR version: I want to own the ISBNs for my books. That option is not available using free Print on Demand services.
For the longer explanation:
The thing all those free print services have in common is that they retain the ownership of the ISBN they assign to an author’s book. That in itself isn’t really a problem, if only this industry treated authors and creators better. Amazon already demands exclusive publishing rights for an ebook to be added to the massively popular Kindle Unlimited library. At the time of writing this, nearly ALL of my earnings are thanks to KU pages read. The Zon doesn’t demand the same exclusivity for hard copies, but from what I’ve seen on the purchaser end of things, the price they charge through competitor sites is so prohibitively expensive, they may as well make it exclusive.
Then there are distributors like IngramSpark. I had originally planned to use them for my print services, right up until I learned all books in their catalogue are going to be used to train AI, and authors have to have opt out of this “service.”
To be clear, no one should ever have their work automatically opted into being used for AI anything. That should always be our choice, and these companies (Deviant Art, IngramSpark, Meta, etc) are doing everything they can to take that choice away.
But that’s neither here nor there.
Thanks to IngramSpark breaking trust with all their authors, I’m very deeply grateful I didn’t use their free services. Because it would mean they’d own the ISBNs of my novels. If I wanted to print with another distributor, I’d have to buy a new ISBN and publish a new version of the book, which would have meant shelling out money in any case.
How much does an ISBN cost? At last check, $85 for a single title. I now have six books published, with a seventh coming out in August, and books eight through ten in the works. I’ll leave you to do the math, but that’s a lot of money for this author to shell out in one go.
So, while the answer to the question of “will your books be available in print?” is currently ‘no,’ I hope to change that in the future. My books just need to be much more successful than they currently are in order to make the massive expense worth it. 😅
Do you use AI at all?
Nope! I am strongly anti-AI, so all my writing, all my revisions and edits, are done by humans. (So, if there are any mistakes, forgive us! We aren’t perfect, and brains are funny things that have a habit of seeing what they think is there rather than what’s actually there.)
Same with my art. All the logos, book covers, promotional pieces, and other art you see around my site and on my social media were all drawn by yours truly (unless otherwise credited).
Why use a pen name?
Ah ha. This is going to sound mildly ridiculous, but I decided to go with a pen name because my real name has the wrong number of a syllables. There is something immensely satisfying in names with an odd number of syllables, and my real name is, alas, an even number.
Also, it’s stupidly long. Trying to fit it on a cover without making it minuscule or having it take up all the space would be tricky. Since I do all my own cover art, and I’m an inherently lazy creature, I said “Yeah, no thanks” and chose to go with a pen name I liked the sound of better. 😅
